1. Annual Support of Sri Parakala Mutt Branches and Affiliate Sannidhis
The Trust is currently contributing towards the annual operating expenses of the Headquarters of the Mutt at Mysuru, as well as at several of the branches and affiliate Hayagriva Sannidhis of the Mutt in Karnataka, Tamilnadu and Telngana. These funds for the most part, have been provided by Grants from Sri Parakala Mutt’s US Affiliate, Parakala Lakshmihayagriva Mission, USA, Inc (PLM, USA). The Trusts intends to apply for these Grants every year in the future also and if received, to continue supporting the above Mutts in the same manner. This funding enables the fledgling Mutt branches and affiliates to continue to carry on a base level of activities year after year.

2. Annual Support to the Headquarters at Mysuru (Recurring)

During the past few years, many functions like tirunakshatrams of current and past achaaryas, are being supported at the Mysore Matham as and when needed on an ad hoc basis. The average annual support hasranged from Rs.3-5 lakh. In 2018, the Trust supported the Celebration of the 750th birth anniversary of Sri Nigamantha Maha Deshikan.The celebrations included a Vidvat-Sadas and the republication of some of the rare religious books. The Trust contributed Rs. 5 lakh for this activity. In 2020, an ad hoc contribution of Rs. 3 lakh The Trust gets receipts from the Mutt for these funds. Trustees usually attend these functions and ensure that the funds are utilized for the purpose advanced. In 2020, the Trust supported the offering of salary bonuses to the religious staff at the Mutt who needed financial relief. The total support was Rs. 2.4 lakh.
3. Support of Adhyayanotsavam at Bangalore Parakala Mutt (Recurring).

A 21-day celebration of Adhyayanotsavam during the month of December/January was started at the Bengaluru Branch of Parakala Mutt in 2011 and it has since been continued as an annual event. This event during which the Tamil divya prabandham is recited has become a popular event at the Mutt. The function in 2018-19 was participated by over 300 men and women reciters. (In 2019-20, the attendance was limited due to COVID19 restictions). BSPSMS Trust has been supporting this annual event since 2013 at a level of Rs. 1.5 lakh each year which represents roughly 25% of the total expenses for conducting this utsavam. The Trust has made a commitment to continue this support in the future. The Trust receives a receipt from the Mutt for these funds.
4. COVID19 Relief in 2020 to the Mutt Branches in Telangana and Tamilnadu (Ad hoc)

5. Supporting poor student scholarships and mid-day meal program at Mutt-operated educational institutions (Ad hoc) in 2021

Tnis activity has been supported from specially designated funding from the Mutt’s US Affiliates, PLM, USA. The funds have originated from US Donors to PLM, USA with matching contributions from their employers and have been earmarked for supporting educational and other public service activities. With this support, the College at Mysuru is offering 11 poor/meritorious students scholarships/fee waivers for a period of two academic years each at the rate of Rs. 25,000 per academic year per student. The remaining amount in the funds is utilized by the Mutt in supplementing the free mid-day meal program it is operating at the rural college of Melukote.
Plans for the near future.
Commitment to continue each year all the recurring items in the above list subject to availability of funds. For this purpose, the Trust will actively seek donations from individuals and organizations both in India and abroad.
Fund Raising
The Trust has applied and received multiple grants totaling over Rs. 2 crores from Sri Parakala Matham, USA, and Parakala Lakshmi Hayagriva Mission, USA during the period 2014-2020 with prior approval/under Registration under FCRA, from the Ministry of Home Affairs, New Delhi.The Trust has actively been seeking donations from devotees and disciples in India to support the various projects listed above. So far, in the last few years, the Trust has received about Rs. 30 lakh from these donors.
Completed Capital Projects.
1. Construction/Restoration of the Ancient Parakala Mutt Building at Thoopul, Kanchipuram, TN.
Project Status: Complted (2020)
Area: 3000 sft in two floors.
Project start date: March 2016
Project completion date: June 2020
Project cost: Rs. 1.5 crores
Project funding: Sri Parakala Matham, USA and local donations in India
Project Management: BSPSMS Trust directly managed, paid contractor and major vendors and engineering bills, monitored progress.
Ground Floor includes the renovated Sanctum Sanctorum, gathering hall, Acharya’s quarters, Kitchen, and several guest rooms with a row of baths and toilets. Parially built-up First Floor has 4 guest rooms with attached baths/ flats of total area of 4000 set. The Trust contributed a total of Rs. 23 lakh over two years towards a construction cost of about 1.5 crores. The Trus’s contribution came almost entirely out a of a Grant received from Parakala Lashmihayagriva Mission, USA.
2. Construction of Dining Hall and a set of residential quarters for the aradhakas and paricharakas at the Parakala Mutt headquarters, Mysuru.
Project Status: (Completed in 2016)
Area: 8000 set in two floors. Ground Floor houses the function/dining Hall of 4000 set area. First Floor houses 6 one- bed room plus one studio flats of total area of 4000 set.
